RULE REMINDERS:
|
Ø
All USAV rules apply, including
the net and centerline rule. If you don't know, please ask. |
|
Ø
Warm-up times are as follows: Prior to the first match for each team,
2-2-1. After the first match no warm up time. |
|
Ø If a ball enters another court in the play
area, play is stopped and a replay is signaled. |
|
Ø Coaches must overrule and correct any
incorrect call made by a player official. This teaches the game and saves a lot of
problems. Coaches need to be the up official or right next to the up
official so he/she can correct any errors. |
|
Ø NO FOOD OR
DRINK IS ALLOWED ON OR AROUND
THE COURT AREA, ESPECIALLY THE SCORER'S TABLE AND COURT SIDELINES. NO GLASS BOTTLES ARE ALLOWED IN
ANY GYM, PERIOD!!!!!! |
|
Ø Cell
phones, CD players and digital music devices are
not to be used while playing or officiating. |
|
OFFICIATING
| Ø
Each team will provide 2 scorekeepers, 2 referees, 2 line judges and whistles for your team. |
| Ø
We need to have coaches as
the up officials in bracket play. |
| Ø Each team is to officiate the assigned games
they are given, and teams may be asked to officiate additional matches if the tournament
is running behind or if
a conflict arises with playing
schedules. |
| Ø The penalty for late arrival at your referee assignment to be assessed on your next game is as follows:
2 point penalty for the first five minutes late, 4 points for 10 minutes late, and forfeiture of your next game for more than 15 minutes late. |
| Ø
Our goal is to keep the tournament running as
quickly and efficiently as possible. |
|
JEWELRY
All visible jewelry must be removed before the beginning of the first game. If it is pierced and it can be seen, it comes off. NO
EXCEPTIONS. This is a safety issue. All rings, watches, necklaces
and friendship bracelets must also come off. If a player is found to have jewelry on during the match, play is stopped and the coach has the option to substitute or use a time out. If no time out or sub is
available, a point or side out will be called. Metal hair barrettes/clips are allowed but must be taped over. |
